Reed Charity Foundation Community Update.
The not-for-profit Reed Charity Foundation is an integral component of Reed Property Group’s holistic business philosophy.
Making a positive difference to the lives of others is important to Reed Property Group, and the Reed Charity Foundation provides a significant avenue for doing just that.
Since its inception in 2002, with the assistance from business partners and the generosity of friends and the community, the Reed Charity Foundation donates funds to a variety of worthwhile community projects each year.
The Foundation manages and administers funding, in-kind donations, sponsorships and fundraising events to benefit registered charities, individuals and volunteer-based community groups that stem from a wide range of educational, sporting, environmental, social and cultural origins.
The Reed Charity Foundation was established to coordinate in-kind sponsorship and donations to registered charities in need. Charities supported by the Reed Charity Foundation must be endorsed by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as a deductible gift recipient and tax exempt charity. The Reed Charity Foundation is officially registered with the ATO and accepts tax deductible donations towards its annual fundraising projects.
Each year the Foundation identifies charities in need within the community and raises funds and in-kind donations for their direct benefit.
In 2008, financial assistance was provided to Family Challenge, a Sunshine Coast based, not-for-profit organisation that promotes mental health in our community. Since its inception in 2004, more than 10,000 individuals and families have been helped in one way or another by this wonderful organisation.
For more information, visit the Family Challenge website.
In 2006/2007 the Foundation built an accommodation facility for patients and their families requiring ongoing medical treatment at the Nambour Hospital. This facility will ensure families can stay close by and support loved ones in their time of need, as well as alleviating any unnecessary financial burdens.
For more information, visit the Sunshine Coast Health Foundation website.
In 2005/2006 our focus was on building an orphanage in the coastal village of Machilipatnam in India, which was devastated by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. Construction of the orphanage was completed in August 2006 and was built by local workers of the Machilipatnam community.
In 2004/2005 the Reed Charity Foundation and our project sponsors and supporters built and established an indoor, fully equipped Therapy Pool facility for Currimundi Special School and use by the greater Caloundra community.
For more information, visit the Currimundi Special School website.
In 2003/2004 our dedicated project was to build the Sunshine Coast Hear & Say Centre to provide therapy and education services for deaf and hearing impaired children and their families. Reed Property Group brought together the region's best industry leaders for this special effort.
For more information, visit the Hear & Say Centre website.
In 2002/2003 we fundraised to aid the Sunshine Coast Children’s Therapy Centre at Nambour, a volunteer-led organisation that provides essential support for many moderately to severely disabled children and their families.
For more information, visit the Sunshine Coast Children's Therapy Centre website.
